Of course, we are preparing and celebrating our Savior's Birth with the entire Church and world!
On December 22 our community celebrated the 60th Jubilee of Profession with Sr Mary Alice Grace and Sr Jean Ryan. It was a very joyful occasion and the Carmelite Fathers and Brother came to celebrate with us, a special Mass and dinner. Fr Sam Anthony, Prior of Marylake Monastery was the main celebrant and homilist. He is a long time friend of both Sisters.
Sisters Mercia and Judith are 'persevering in Grace' and continue attentively in the formation process and Novices (Sr Mercia, a Franciscan, as a Professed Novice and Sr Judith as Extern Novice). We are very grateful for their example and efforts to find the follow the Way of Perfection of our great Foundress, Saint Teresa of Avila, Spain.
In November, we had our annual community retreat, with Dr Susan Muto of Epiphany Association (specializing in Formative Spirituality) as our Retreat Master. It was a very special experience with profound content and lots of 'down to earth' advice. The theme of the retreat was on The Interior Castle of St Teresa. Her study and reflections on 'Our Holy Mother' are a treasure to us, and we all plan to go over the material again and again. Thank you Dr Susan!
