Christmas Season in our Carmel
We want to share a few of our Christmas decor around the monastery. It was a beautiful sight, inside and out.
As we move into Ordinary time, we are preparing to share in the international project to re-read all of St Teresa's writings with the use of study guides from the center of the Order in Rome. This is all in preparation for the 500th anniversary of the birth of St Teresa of Jesus (Avila) to be celebrated in 2015. The theme of this celebration is "Born for You", St Teresa's own words and understanding of her mission in life. This is the sense all humanity needs to understand regarding life, naturally.
We are also preparing and planning for workshops/courses to help us in our journey in faithfulness to our life.
Below you will also see a photo of our visit with Msgr Lawrence Frederick, our Chaplain after the Christmas Mass at mid-night. It is our very long tradition to visit with our Chaplain in the visiting room afterwards and have Christmas bread and home-made hot chocolate. We all have a grand time!
Blessings to you, and more later.
